Samsungtv/Sky?digital..playing up..?

Hello, we have a 32" Samsung tv,with built in freeview connected to a sky+ box and a DVD player.
Now, sometimes the system seems to have a mind of its own.....changing channels, and volume all by itself!
When this is happening the red remote control signal light on the TV is illuminated and sometimes when on the Sky channels it will make a "popping" sound and go blank. The batteries in the remote are fine and I have also tried to check all cable connections are Ok,sometimes this helps, others it doesnt..!
Any ideas please?

What happens if you switch to Freeview input only (if you have an aerial connection as well)?
This will tell you if it's the Sky box or the TV.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Just tried that, didnt even want to change channels...I think it is the TV.
Now its started jumping between Sky,analogue and digital, for maybe just a second or two on each..! Sometimes it will operate perfect, so I know if I call an engineer this is when it will decide to run perfectly..!0 -
Replace the scart lead between Sky and TV.
Take the batteries out of the remotes or put all of them in another room, still happening?0 -
If the remote control light on the tv lights up it would appear something is interfearing with your remote signal. Do you have an av sender in your house?0

Do you have energy saving lights or fluorescent lights - both are well known sources of spurious infra-red radiation (as are the backlights in lcd TVs and plasma screens) all of which can interfere with and sometimes emit radiation which is interpreted by equipment as remote control signals.0

Do you have any neighbours who have Sky? only reason I ask is that going back about 2 years ago I was having problems with my tv turning over and found that our setting where exactly the same (somehow) so when they were turning their tv over it would change ours over and vise versa with them so if so check if theirs changes when you change channel, if so then speak Sky. If not then have you got a video sender as this can also cause problems (Im now with Virgin and have to turn mine off as get turned over/volume changed, hope you get the problem sorted I can imagine its a very annoying thing to happen0

Well, sometimes on freeview it will just scroll through the channels by itself.!0

Serious question:
What equipment is dependant on the remote having good batteries? (No experience of Sky)
As far as I'm concerned, the remote is just that, and you could throw it away, and not cause any equipment problems.0
