Hello
did anyone manage to get syrup from anywhere in the UK?
I've bought a Mr Frosty for someone's Xmas and it doesn't come with any flavours now!!:eek:0 -

No-one is replying probably because you have bumped a 2yr old thread. It's much better to start a new one as people get annoyed at reading a thread only to realise the stuff is from 2007!Thank you all who post.0

Just found this thread after a google or two. Apologies for bringing it back from the dead but I feel I've finally found a solution that would benefit other people that have contributed to this thread.
Whilst wandering around Tesco last night I saw a Kenwood Slushie machine on offer at £29. I've had a variety of different machines that boast this facility and all of them have come up short when compared to a slushie that I've had whilst been out at somewhere like Chester Zoo for example.
I tried it out tonight and its produced something that would be sold at over £1 a cup at any drinks retail outlet.
Its very like the smoothie maker but there is a central metal cylinder, into which you load 60ml of water, 200g of ice, a cap ful of rock salt (you layer this so you end up with 600g of ice and 3 caps of rock salt) and then you pour your juice (1l of juice of your choice mixed with 50g of caster sugar) into a different hole on the lid which causes the cylinder to rotate around the juice, 15 mins later and you dispense the slush into a cup, and enjoy with a straw.
Because of how this freezes the liquid you can even buy some of the proper slush syrup that you dilute 5:1 and use that (I've bought some from ebay so I'll let you know how I get on with that).
You should be able to pick up the kenwood slushie at your local tesco, they also have it online here:

hope that helps
Matt
sorry to bring this back from the dead again but just want ot make anyone who may read this aware that this did not work, ive just wasted £10s worth ofsyrup aswell as all my other ingredience for it not to be anything like a slush puppie and waste of time. itjust tastedlike salt.0 -
we can supply the syrup for use in the home machines. as in use as frozen flavoured ice or as the concentrate to dilute 1 part syrup with 5 parts water at slushsyrup.co.ukfrugglewump wrote: »Yes, but backwards. That one starts with ice & crushes it - the one i'm on about did it the other way. You put in flavoured water to the cooled bit and stirred until ice formed.
It looked like a huge yellow plastic mug with a removable center that went into the freezer.
I could get one of those, it just looks over-engineered to me.0 -
i have orderd from that site in the past
just find it so hard to make them without a slush puppy machine they are just sat in my cupboard
