  • Remember that most of these assessment are deliberately structured to catch out people who are stretching the truth or whose 'story' has holes/inconsistencies. One of the best bits of advice I received regarding these things was not to make things up or tell them what you think they want to hear. A professional assessment day will spot that straight away. They will not expect everyone to have the A1 epitomy of every skill being tested - they are looking at you all round.

If you are stuck for a work-based response, do not forget that your home/personal life will have many examples and some employers may see you being able to bring your life outside work into it as being a positive example of someone who has the same approach to work and life - consistency.Use a real example from your home life over a fictional, work based one any day.

    Having said that:
can anyone think of anything that i may be able to use for resiliance,

I believe that you did CeMap while having another job/life. Remember how self disciplined you needed to be and how, at times, things got tough and you felt like giving in? Something inside you said, no, I can see the end goal that sticking this out will achieve; I want that for me and my family and that will keep me going and force me to make the time to take a serious approach to my studies.
    influencing groups

Do not forget that groups coud be (adult) family members, PTA, social committees - sometimes situations that you may not think of as particularly impressive can be a very good illustration. ie if you do not have the weight of managerial responisbility over a group, you have to be good at influencing a group of peers.
    and persuasive skills

Seems very similar to above but is probably aimed more at a one to one basis. My answer remains the same and again, it can help if you can illustrate persuasion of an adult without having a stick or carrot to waive in front of them.
i know it's a cop out doing it this way, but i'm so nervous i don't want to look like a numpty, as i really need a job!

only a cop out if you don't have the skills and want someone to tell you what someone with those skills would say.

Those who look like numpties are the ones who give the answer they think is being looked for rather than the one that is a real reflection of them - they soon get picked off by an experiened interviewer who can spot inconsistencies!!!

Good luck and fingers etc crossed for you
