Can I lose my money

I have purchase but not yet paid an item of high value (ebay cost £369 ) at a much reduced price. The seller had 30 of these and has now sold out. He is a busisness seller but with little feed back (17).
Payment is via paypal only and will ship in 15 days.
There are a few things that ring alarm bells but can I lose my money if I pay via paypal?

As long as it is not an 'excluded' item then you will be covered. I would be slightly worried at someone having 30 of the same item - all high value - with a history of only 17 transactions to see.
Is it a high risk category?0 -
It's an iPad0

In that case I would be cautious, there are a lot of look a like items on the Far East market and the 15 day shipping suggests that these are being drop shipped.
If they track a fake to your door then you will have a little bit of work and effort to get a refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. He has sold 67!
Actually a quick look on Goofbay makes my hair curl.
OP, I would not pay, it is not worth the hassle.0 -
Not wishing to spread alarm and cause you undue worry but ship in 15 days sounds like it's being drop-shipped from China and as all the top importers from china will say you can't buy genuine goods from China even though the majority are manufactured there you will be very lucky if you get the iPad you think you're paying for. I bet the advert used stock photos and description didn't it?
I believe you are covered by Paypal should this seller prove me wrong.
ETA Must type faster, beaten to it by Soolin (again).0 -
The auction states the following. which suggests that it is genuine:Introducing Apple iPad 32GB Wi-Fi and 3G.
These are offical UK Spec, brand new and sealed in original box with Apple warranty, so please don't ask me this as my inbox is flooded with the same question, thank you. Also 16 days is the Delivery time as I am away with work. Please note : when purchasing could you please pay straight away as I've had someone buy 4 and now no communication, so no pranks or the next one will be reported!
Please note: payment to be made in full through Paypal, also buyers from out of the UK contact me to arrange postage costs, Please allow up to 16 days for delivery as I am away with work alot, so please don't ask for sooner.
He has now relisted with a further bulk of iPads. There is contact information with a mobile telephone number.0 -

Avoid! Its easier to deal with an unpaid item strike than it is to loose over £300,especially if the seller has such low feedback.0
