  • Any income should be declared. You can earn a small amount whilst on JSA (only about £5 a week before money is taken off, £1 for £1, I think).

That is correct, unless the OP is disabled or a lone parent, where the disregard is £20 (or if they are part of a joint claim the disregard is £10).
    Gone ... or have I?

But remember with ann summers parties you can earn about £100 per party. So that rules out any entitlement to JSA that week

My friend does on average 2 parties a week and MAKES £100 per party for herself after paying out for everything

I done them years ago when they wernt as popular and I made about £50 a party

you will be classed as self employed, so you declare income and expediture and JSA will make the decision on how much is tobe treated as earnings
  • The problem you have is if they find out from a third party that you have undeclared income they may consider it benefit fraud. I would contact jobcentre plus and seek some advice. They will be able to tell you the amount you can earn before it affects your claim. I think you can tell them weekly your earnings from Ann Summers and they will adjust your benefit, but be aware that it may make you unavailable for work according to the rules which again could effect your benefit. You really need to check it out before you start with Ann Summers.

Why not? Are you claiming benefits? Register self employed declare the earnings and that's it.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
