Does anyone know if they'll replace tracks lost because of a corrupt memory card if I have proof of purchase? Some of my music will be backed up to my PC but by no means all. Yes, I know it's my own fault so, please, no lectures.

Doubt it very much. Would imagine you'll get either a replacement card or a refund, nothing for consequential loss. How would you prove what was on there?

  • I would prove it by the proof of purchases, surely? Perhaps I'm living in some kind of parallel universe but I'm pretty sure that in similar circumstances Apple would provide replacement tracks via iTunes. I guess that's just the much-lauded Apple customer service, though.

Anyway, I have bigger fish to fry. Despite supplying the memory card with the phone, Three are saying it isn't under warranty and I'll need to replace it myself. I feel - yet another - email to their Executive Office coming on...

They wont, but as you can prove you've paid for it, I think you'd be within your rights to download it elsewhere.
  • The card is being replaced but only after I pay for it and then have the amount credited to my account.

Email sent to the Executive Office (again) asking why they make customers jump through hoops like this.

I'd not hold your breath if it was Apple! They have a strict policy of one time downloads (if you loose it tough!!) I've only heard of a hand full of people who have ever gotten music re-downloaded from apple, even that was after getting the press involved and jumping through loads of hoops...

Contact Amazon Customer services with the order numbers for the tracks you are missing (search your amazon purchases for mp3 to find the order numbers)

  • From the Amazon FAQ page :-

"Can I download another copy of my MP3 files after the initial purchase?

Your Amazon MP3 Music purchases can only be downloaded once. After you have successfully downloaded the file to your computer at the time of purchase, we recommend that you create a backup copy.
We are currently unable to replace any purchased files that you delete or lose due to a system or disk error. If you encounter a problem with an MP3 file immediately after purchase, please click the "Contact Us" button in the Customer Service box in the right-hand column of this page so we can determine how to help you."

If i could not recover the MP3 i had actually paid for from the card and Amazon where of no help .
I would source the actual MP3 songs elsewhere as i have paid for them and whats the difference between MP3 one and Amazons and who can tell and would they bother .
Plus i would not feel i had cheated anybody .

  • One of the many advantages of Android. Plug your phone in to you pc / laptop and drag and drop the files to back them up.
