Any good ISPs around these days?

There used to be bucket loads of broadband companies years ago but now they all seem to have been swallowed up by TalkTalk. With just a few big players left like BT, Sky, O2, and of course, TalkTalk.

What happened!

The smaller ones are generally the better ones.;)
  • Have had my share of crappy ISPs over the years, but really, really happy with my current one 'BE'. So much so that I am over 2 years out of contract now and wouldn't dream of switching.

They were bought by O2 a while back, though I think it was just so that O2 could piggy back on their infrastructure when launching their own service. As far as I can see, they operate pretty autonomously.
  • The best rated and raved about, from what I see are:

    BE/O2
    AAISP
    IDNET
    Zen Internet

The first two can/do supply over the BE network, the latter two are - as far as I know - BT Wholesale providers only.
