  • I think I'll have to call in to a store and look at a few to get a feel for them.

Browsing the Carphone Warehouse site, the Samsung Galaxy Apollo stood out as a slightly more expensive option - it gets a 5 star rating on there but does anyone have any experience of it, for example, is it sim locked etc? It is £30 more on Orange but gives a higher resolution camera, touch screen and GPS plus Android rather than Ovi.

One thing, I can't find anywhere any information as to how much Orange charge for internet use on PAYG!

    Apparently it's unlocked at CPW.

Click 'More about...' at the bottom of the tabs.

The plans that allow internet charge £2* max per day outside the allowance. God knows what "*" means. I think it's some fair usage policy.
In any case I think you can find a better deal elsewhere.

Hi why dont you have a look at the t mobile pulse mini. I was umming and aarhhing about purchasing an android phone because of all the hype and thinking it might be good. My kids said dont bother you wont use it as im a bit of a late starter but get there in the end about 5 years after everyone else :D I needed to find out for myself though. So i looked into it and was tempted by the orange sanfrancisco ( i didn t want to buy one too dear in case i didn t want it after ). This pulse mini is a low end range but it gives an idea if people want to go down the route of android, apps etc. There was also a good deal for £10 a month, you d need to enquire about this though. After a few weeks i decided i didn t really use it apart from texts so i sold it to cex and didn t really lose too much money. I at least had a go and decided that for me it wasn t a necessity so ive got a nokia 2720 on the tesco mobile network pay as you go and thats fine for me.Hth
  • Hi sghughes42,

There's a couple of options available to you. The deal your currently on sounds like Orange Out Here and whilst at the time was a really good deal with the call charges now the free texts don't really make up for it. Your best option would either be a Dolphin PAYG SIM this will give you 300 Texts and 100 MB of data when you Top Up £10 a month. The £10.00 remains on your account as credit which enables you to make calls.

Another option would be a SIM only deal. These cost slightly more than PAYG and are on a rolling 30 day basis so no long term agreement and offer a higher inclusive allowance than the PAYG.

    Hope this helps.

I just spoke to someone at Orange who told me it only included 50mb.... seems to be different stories depending on who you talk to - certainly on the website it states 'unlimited internet' - surely they cannot state this if they are clearly capping the usage to 50mb....
