Ages ago I had a car that needed the brakes fitting all round. Kwik fit quoted about £320. I took it to another garage and they wanted £200 for the same work. I then rang Kwik fit to tell them this and they said they would do it for £200 to match the quote. I had the work done at the other garage.

If they can knock off £120 like that just think how much they are making.

They said the same thing when I went there "if you can find it cheaper, we'll match it". But I'm not going to give work to someone who *could* do it for £300 less but choses not to.

If they don't want to offer their best quote first time, that's their loss.

Just get the handbrake fixed then. The MOT is very stringent and if there was the slightest doubt about the braking system it would be failed. They may issue an advisory note warning that come next test it may fail if condition deteriorates. DON'T get any work done unless it is necessary.

I had no choice but to take my car to Kwik-Fit for it's MOT.

    Grand total was £255:eek:

I had to take my OH with me so she could pay on her card and was told they don't take solo cards:mad:

I went to the cashpoint over the road but as I'd already taken £30 out in the morning, I could only get £170 out and amazingly, Kwik-Fit manager said he'd do it for that if I promised to go back in when I need tyres or an exhaust so I said yes;)

They can !!!!!! off if they think I'm stupid enough to go back when they can just knock £85 off like that:mad:
