  • Audible do a free app so you can use their products on Android phones.

And very good it is too - although it scares me when I look at the total time I've spent listening to them (I have a 50minute commute to work and I prefer audiobooks to the radio).

As someone pointed out earlier in the thread the iPlayer apps for Android are limited in their functionality. I've used it fine over wifi on my phone but I've heard that phones with no flash support can't use it (but I can't vouch for that myself). I've also heard that the BBC will bring out a version of iPlayer than supports 3G in the future.

Most other apps that support iPlayer have had to withdraw support at the request of the BBC but I believe there are older versions of these apps that do work (you just need to get hold of them and install them manually).
  • Thank you for all your replies, given me some food for thought. Might have missed something but would like not to use up too much data allowance on streaming iplayer if I can download via PC (hope this makes sense).

Again, thanks for being patient - lots of very helpful people about.
