Thanks for this OP.
My cat will only eat purina and you've saved me a fortune. I ordered 4 bags online (click and collect) last night and total came to £27.98. I collected in store during my lunch hour and held up the store for about 15 minutes. For some reason this glitch managed to freeze the tills when they put the order through. As they tried all 4 tills, there was a MASSIVE queue. I was half expecting the staff to be miffed with me and not give me the super bargain but they were lovely and even apologised for MY inconvenience by reducing the price to £25 for the lot.
Thanks again x0 -

I have just had an offer email that says Burns is £8 discount on 15kgs bag, well, I checked their website and they reckon it 'used' to be £51. It's never been £51. Last month I paid £42 and got £7 discount on 2 bags, I checked the site last week and it was still £42 and I was waiting for an offer code to come in.
I thought there might have been a price rise but on the Burns website the same food is £42: http://shop.burnspet.com/Products/CAT_201?childpid=0x314D25520000010600DB120800890000
Quite annoyed about this blatant lie about the before price, tbh. I am going to speak to Burns tomorrow as it does not say what their delivery charge is but it seems rather odd that I come on here recommending PS and the 'before' price rises by almost £10. I won't be ordering from them again if these are the tactics they use when people recommend their site on here.
There's been no price hike, I sell burns for £39 a 15kg sack.0 -
Kazschow, I hope you don't mind me asking but you seem really nice and knowledgeable so I'm going to be cheeky and ask anyway, what do you think of Dr Johns dog food? Our dog is a working dog during the season and been on it years but recently someone said it was rubbish, so I'm just curious what you think.
Also, any tips for an old cat who has gone off wet food but meows for it the whole time, then when you give it to her she sniffs it, looks at you like you have presented her with a pile of poo and continues to meow? She is still eating dry food but just moany. She is happy and very loved though

hi there kazschow!
Hi, I was wondering if you'd be able to give me some advice, seeing as you're a fellow Chow lover! I've got a 3 year old Chow and a 3 year old Rottweiler and our vet suggested for them to have Chappie dog food as she said it's really good for their digestion - they used to eat James Wellbeloved. My Rotty has bad wind - he even had it when he was on the James Wellbeloved - but after 7 months on the Chappie, he still has the wind issue! On top of that, my Chow is really fussy about what he eats and what he eats one day, doesn't mean he'll eat it the next!
As well as the dry food, I also feed them wet food and tend to go for the Deli Chicken tins from Pets at Home. Instead of having the 1 meal a day, I give them 2, so they usually have the wet food in the morning and then the dry with some beef mince mixed in in the evening.
My Chow has quite dry skin and the vet suggested Evening Primrose Oil but I found no improvement on this so I am trying the Velcote Skin and Coat Support from zooplus.co.uk as it got some really good reviews on their site and I'm also giving him the Luposan Joint Power Tablets from there as he has a touch of arthritis in his back leg - I checked with the vet first before giving him any of these supplements. I want to do the best for my dogs and cost isn't that much of an issue, but I have found out that the dearest doesn't always mean the best!
Sorry for the essay, but you seem to really know your stuff and would appreciate your opinion- and thanks for all the advice you have given so farJuly- coconut body shop body butter, pom bear football, mini johnsons lotion, Sally Hansen nail treatments0 -

Your like the pet food guru on here! Thanks.A lot of dogs do well on it, it was a real staple in the working market a good few years ago. I don't like wheat based foods, I think brown rice or oats is much easier digested by dogs. In the mid range where this premium and gold lie, you could get a few others that might be worth considering, say Skinners field and trial duck and rice, or slightly more expensive the salmon and potato, an easily digested hypo allergenic food, food for dogs with a sensetive stomach.
However, if you and your dog are happy on Dr Johns, I certainly wouldn't be pushing you to change it, now if it was Bakers lol
Fazeypie, I'm just heading out, food to deliver lol, I'll get back to you soon, chowies are my speciality heheheee0 -
Which Dr john are you feeding? It's not a premium food, but it's mist definately not the worst thing you could feed

Thanks so much for the reply, it's the gold version she's on. She seems happy on it, a little on the plump side so we'll be cutting down how much she gets soon.
Thanks foe taking the time to help, it's much appreciated0 -

You are more than welcome. Glad someone else benefitted from what was an excellent deal!0 -
This dog food price has been reduced to nearly 1/3rd of the original price. It is also a branded dog food, quite astonishing, but also creates some doubts in my mind that whether it is genuine or not. So be careful before buying it.0
