I've discovered with porridge, that if I leave it to soak overnight it's much creamier. I make it with water (my preference) but if you were making it with diluted milk it would be less noticable if you soaked the oats. also saves time in the morning!weaving through the chaos...0

If you buy full fat milk you can add at least 1/3 water without noticing a great change in cerealsOne day I might be more organised...........

GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
this is more than do-able i have a family for 5 (2 adults and 3 children) we have 1 in nappies and we do use value nappies and i buy wipes on offer but have used value ones before, sainburys value nappies are only £1.48 for 20ish, if your not keen on this idea lidl nappies are fab
i think your meal plan looks great it also might be worth doing some baking, you could bulk out lunches with buns that will cost pennies and make some rolls/baps and fill with cheap fillings like HM egg mayo/cheese/hamDEC GC £463.67/£450

Last night I popped into our local co-op (7pm ish) and bought a large stuffed chicken, 2 packs of their finest caramalised onion sausages, 2 packs of ham, a box of boursin (all for me lol) a big bag of potatoes, pack of 6 chicken drumsticks and a pack of best butter all for £14. Definitely worth visiting as late as possible. They had lots there but I didn't have enough on me to buy any more!
Oh and the other night I popped into Sainsburys about 8.30ish and the crumpets had been reduced to 20p a pack (8 per pack) so effectively I have breakfast, dinners and teas for the week for about £15 before buying staples such as bread and veggies etc0 -

right here goes...
in my cupboards - 1 tin of chopped tomatoes/1 tin of tom puree
2 tins of tuna .....Tuna lasagne or pasta, HM tuna fishcakes,
4 tins of beans.....add to stews and curries to bulk them out or just have beans on toast.
box of lasagne sheets
bag of pasta,
family size pack of micro rice
3 boxes of stuffing make up the stuffing into balls and cover well with mashed potato, dip in egg and breadcrumbs and fry.
2 packs of couscous... add a stock cube, with butter and some veggies
1 box of cereal
salt/pepper/ various spices/beef and chicken gravy granules
Freezer - Pork loin........ Sunday dinner, then use left overs to make a curry, stir fry, risotto or stew for the next day or just slice up and reheat in gravy for another roast dinner
pack of diced chicken breast....... chicken pie/pasties, stew, make as a stew and add a savoury crumble topping (my lot love that and it is very filling) stir fry, lasagne or with a tin of tomatoes and herbs and serve with couscous, rice or pasta
diced gammon...... lovely as a hotpot with sliced potatoes and veggies or make a pea and gammon soup
pack of pork chops...... Chop them into dice and use as above to stretch them out
1 bag of southern fries chips
3 garlic baguettes
pack of potato waffles
fish fingers
bag of frozen peas.try a pea soup, add to stews etc
I would buy 2 or 3 boxes of eggs for making fritattas, omelettes and cakes (£1.25 for 15 medium in Aldi)
Honestly you have plenty there for a week
Pancakes are cheap and can be used in sweet and savoury dishes, Macaroni cheese with onions and tomatoes.
HM pizza's are another easy thing to make or how about a savoury bread and butter pudding,
Make some tortillas, twinks or cakes to go in lunch boxes.
HM soups are easy to make and very filling we have a soup and pudding night every week and veggie meals at least twice a week.
Try making your own bread and rolls, much easier than you think.
Check out Aldi for their super six - this week is bags of onions, brocolli, swede, parsnips, carrots and salad potatoes all for 39p each.
Aldi do a family sized chicken for £2.99 and I can stretch it to 3 meals for 4 adults.
