virgin taking over telewest/ntl

just tried to get the 3 month reduced broadband package out of telewest again and the lady said they are not doing goodwill deals at moment as they have been taken over by virgin and there will be lots of changes in the new year. info to be sent out at a later date.
not sure if this is of any help to anyone but some may want to wait before they change providers.

I thought NTL bought out virgin mobile and were trying to buy out ITV

I had a good will deal recently - 17.99 down to 9.99 per month for broadband. Yes they are being taken over by virgin and I presume using virgin's price structure

ntl bought Telewest, then they bought Virgin Mobile.
They will, at some point next year rebrand to be Virgin Media

There is some speculation that ntl is in talks with ITV, but that's very early stages.

I think that they probably just don't want to give you a discount again

ntl:telewest got the rights to the virgin brand to create virgin media when they bought virgin mobile

Is this taker over going to have any big effect on customers with Ntl telewest. I recieved a lovely leaflet today from them explaining NOTHING. Does anyone know how it will affect us???

got the same leaflet. thought the website they mention would have more info but nothing. only good thing so far is cust services been open longer (good for us maybe not so good if you work there!)

Yes, I got the leaflet and the info website they tell me to look at has no info on it !!

I got a goodwill discount when I threatened to leave 6 months or so ago, but know I won't get much now

Looking forward to see how quickly their call centres deal with things, I am one of the few that is actually impressed with Telewest.

My broadband broke in the morning, I phoned and THAT afternoon they repleced it with a new one ! I was more than impressed. Hope Virgin are just as good
