For the love of god, be careful when doing your own insulation!

Top tip - If you find yourself covered in either rockwool or glassfibre insulation and itching like??? DONT WASH IN WARM WATER, washing in warm water opens up your pores, the fibres will get stuck in your pores and make washing them off even harder.
Best thing to do is vac them off if you can the wash in COLD WATER, not nice at this time of year admittedly but it'll stop the itching.
Trust me I spent years in lofts as an apprentice and it works a treat. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
And while it might seem like a bright idea to do it in the summer ready for the cold winter ahead - seriously don't! Its harder to wear enough clothing to cover everything when you are in a hot loft space, you start sweating, your pores open, and before long you feel like you are being rolled around inside a brillo pad (and I'm not particularly reactive to the stuff).Adventure before Dementia!0

HA! yeah i did some work for a builder not long ago who bought 20 rolls of that stuff because he was a tight get, put up one roll of it and refused to carry on using it! He had to get a lad in to put it all up so his moneysaving ended up costing him more!!
Horrible stuff. Very itchy and seems to fall apart in your hands. Probably does the job as good as the rest but just awful to install!
Referring to the OP's EON stuff by the way0 -
get someone in to do it for you0

The funniest part is that whenever I go in the loft now to add/remove boxes from storage, I just have to look at the stuff and I start feeling itchy all over!
I'll definitely try the vacum / cold shower thing next time - thanks for the tip MuckyButt!0 -
i used to know some lads who installed the stuff.
they went in the shower as soon as they got home. every day. works clothes were always kept seperate from normal clothes.
and always washed in the WM on their own.
maybe a good idea for anyone diy ing to wear old clothes and skip them afterwards.Get some gorm.0
