That's cause self employed claims are normally complex, it should be a senior assessor who deals with the claim. Limited companies are not particularly common to assess. I think I have only dealt with one in the last 12 years.
The assessor who was dealing with it was probably told that they had not asked for all the info that was needed and was told to ring you so the claim was not held up any more.
Just make an appointment with the team leader or write a letter to the head of benefits and get some answers.0 -
re: obscure business, well if you have no buildings, cars, pcs etc to value, and a low turnover, you are probably fine.
So can you please provide your info or withdraw your claim - it is very simple. fretting over it or questioning it to death achieves nothing and is infuriating.

Sounds like HMRC are getting their act together, lots of people are on a particular fiddle, declare yourself self employed, pay yourself £6k, claim multiple benefits, I know of at least three people who openly brag about doing this. I have also been told by a taxi driver that the paternal owner of the taxi firm pays his sons £5k pa to drive huge hours, they then claim multiple benefits and receive "gifts" from their father.
Not suggesting for a minute this is the case here, but I' m pleased the investigations are taking place.0
