Im not sure ive much room to talk about newbies as you will see on my profile that i only joined in Dec myself but then again ive treated people with respect, courtesy and kindness and grattitude since i started posting....so im not at all sure why newbies on here have all of a sudden launched a damned stupid conversation on here against a fellow mse'r....seems to me that this forum IS a public forum....users CAN post on here and posts that are deemed to be in the wrong place will be moved accordingly.
OP i for one would like to say welcome and please dont be put off using this forum by mindless comments

Sounds like an interesting piece of software. However, I, and I expect others enter competitions at more than one location (ie home and work during breaks). Therefore, if entering from work (where I can't add software) I wouldn't be able to update.
Would the software you have put together have any spyware or similar?
Is it just for me to update competitions I have entered? One facility could be for it to "add" competitions itself that have been found. Or in the case of email competitions, a facility whereby it can sent the email itself, using perhaps a "saved" profile.
PM me if you wish!
Use a portalble app on a dongle and you can use any PC with a USB port without problems, this app would benefit from that functionality so it was a backup record too...as for spyware lol, he's not likely to say if it had it really, kinda defeats the object of spyware?
One thing that would be really bloody useful would be the ability to query FB and twitter and expecially blogs to check if you have won anything you entered...a lot of them just don't tell you and you need to return IF you remember.
Anything that requires loads of input extra to the competition entry willbe doomed, if people enjoyed filling forms they wouldn't use roboform after all.
As for all the BS about posting and bumping in this section...can someone direct me to the "general" section where it culd have gone without being lost in the massive chat thread like the ones we have that serve no purpose when something that isn't a comp needs to be said, what's the problem with a bump too...no-one's going to enter or miss entering it after all.
The guy's offering a little help, asking an hinest question about some software (that ISNT part of the forum code ...peoplekeep mentioning forum features and that's not relevant since it's nothing integated into MSE).
I'll test a beta version if testers are needed
tHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Its called the New Topic button - at the top of Competition Forum page. "See things Differently" On the same bar as comps ending
Saves all the hassle of threads being bumped so you only get what has just been posted. Combine that and pressing the enter button (it makes the little green ticks that let you know you have entered a comp), you never get lost again as to where you are hth0 -
Thanks for posting this, I'm new to this forum and am starting to lose track of what I'm entering too!! Now I'm starting to get the hang of all the buttons lolBest win ever - My wedding!!
2011 wins so far - 2 tickets for Cardiff City home game, Get Squiggling DVD, Now 78 Party Pack, Book, Megamind DVD, In the Night Garden tour family ticket, Wonders of the Universe DVD0 -
I will also be PM'ing you in a min OP it sounds interesting and anything that helps comping should be welcomed.
I can't help but think that Justice-4-hollie-greig wont be around here much longer, its not a good thing to be so demanding when your so new to the forum. You can simply ignore the thread. Also amusing that Jorbert seems to be siding with them and theyre also a newby ... maybe they should learn some manners and forum etiquette?0 -
I have pm'd Glad to either move this to discussion or close it.0

Thank you Weeowen.
What started out as a simple request (whether posted in the wrong place or not) has turned into a rather rude and unnecessary tirade by some posters in this thread.
for the 3 that have been rude (Jorbert, Justice and BigBloke) if you can't say something constructive to the OP then please don't post anything.
This is a forum for ALL of us, newbies included and whilst you are entitled to your opinion, out and out rudeness is not needed. :eek:Thanks to those that post the comps!!
