Mobile Broadband Data Allowance -> reduced by a third!

I have a Vodafone mobile broadband & I just happened to notice on their site that they have now reduced the monthly allowance from 3gb to 2gb, though it will still cost £15!!! The cheek!
I spoke to a vodafone employee & he stated that they were merely bringing themselves into line with most other mobile broadband providers (apart from 3 Mobile, but he went on to say that their connection is the worst). How much truth is there in this? Can anyone recommend another provider that still has the 3gb data allowance?

I assume that you are on contract?
I would check the T&C's and find out what the score is on the broadband front, looking specifically whether they are allowed to change the allowance at their convenience. If it doesn't say anything then its possible that they have broken contract so you might want to call and renegotiate your contract?6 debts down - 1 to go: just over £1000 though, soon soon....

Hi Whispywillow,
Sorry should have mentioned it is a Pay & Go dongle. £15 for 30 days data allowance.0 -
Have you had a check to see if you can get a better deal elsewhere? the 3 network has a good deal on at the moment: http://threestore.three.co.uk/broadband/?id=1183 - (3rd one down).6 debts down - 1 to go: just over £1000 though, soon soon....

I had a look at a couple of providers & it does seem that they too have indeed gone down to 2gb (for the same cost of 3gb previously).
Thanks for the link to 3, I have avoided them before due to stories of awful connections however they may have improved & 5gb is lot more reasonable than 2! They appear to have a 14 day return policy so I will probably give them a go.0 -

Three have the largest 3g network in the Uk chances are if you cant get a decent 3g / hsdpa signal with them then you wont get it with anybody.
A recent speed test from using one of their new mifi devices, i live a mile and a half from my nearest mast.. alot of people dont even get these speeds on a landline connection0
