I am not a banker, so I cannot inform them of how to run that side of the business. It is not their business it is the members. We vote them in on a yearly basis.

As a marketer , and more importantly a "Shareholder" of the society. The importance of customer service. I acknowledge your point regarding the service wheel , this point can become problematic when you for example look at Primark and their level of profits and return.

I am asking for the customer to become the heart of their operation

Would you accept higher rates and charges for that?

Why don't you apply for a job with them and invoke change from within? I am being serious by the way.

If you are closing all your accounts with them, are you not giving up your right as a member to seek change. If you no longer bank with them why would they chase your approval?
  • god know am not saying they should listen to the customers that way. IF they did it would be a Caslberg moment , 2% APR loans and 10% paid on your credit balances.

I am just trying to say the service culture in many organisations fail to acknowledge who they are to serve , the customer or the shareholder. I would argue that the most sucessful business serve the customer first and profits through customer satisfaction will serve the shareholder.
  • That was my threat ,it did not work so I am staying but moving my banking operation to another

That is just an opinion. Many very succesful businesses offer very little in the way of customer service. Think Ikea, Primark etc. In the end you do tend to get what you pay for.
  • Customer inertia .

Yes I did acknowlege Primark in an earlier post , does not fit the statement

I would argue that the most successful businesses corner the market and then screw the customer for everything they can....eg Microsoft, Apple etc

Vote with your feet, end of.

To seek apology or change smacks of desperation and is pointless as you have threatened to vote with your feet.

As you are leaving, they do not or should not care two hoots about you.

My Son has a simple savings account there, I would rather they cared about me to be honest, I enjoy the great rates and am happy to accept a reduced CS attitude in exchange.

Your complaint seems not to be about the bank failing in their normal duties, but because they wouldn't bend the rules for you? Not a petition I'll rush to sign.
