Will a powerpack sort out my issue with getting electric into my garage?

You would get so little energy out of a solar panel, even if you decked the entire roof of the garage with them.
If seriously considering them, do some research into expected output. One I found said you can typically get 750kWh per year for every kW panel installed.
Using that as an example, a 12W panel would give enough stored energy to drive an 8W bulb (let's use energy efficient CFLs!) for just over 11 seconds a day. Use it wisely!
E.On actually quoted me that 14 1.3mx1.3m solar panels on my house, rated at 2.45kWh would be expected to generate 1.898 kWh of electricity per annum, so that supports the above numbers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Keep digging chaps!
I can't believe how many people suggested running a cable across a public road / right of way.
Can I suggest a cheap fix?
Buy some of the LED lights that are now dirt cheap, and use rechargeable batteries to power them. Most people use rechargeable AA etc batteries now, don't they?
(No experiece of the light duration of these things though, but spare batteries are cheap enough too. Keep a boxfull handy)0 -
