Will a powerpack sort out my issue with getting electric into my garage?

Buy an old exercise bike get it all hooked up and tell your missus you need power in the shed and she needs to lose weight, I bet she'll be understanding and help you out in your predicament, if that fails you can use the bike to keep yourself warm when the missus relegates your sleeping arrangements to said shed ;o)))0

Come on that's not even funny0

Wind turbine (can make your own using an old alternator) or a solar panel. Use either one to charge a 100 Ah leisure battery, connect-up an inverter, and away you go. The advantage of this system is that you can increase your power storage by simply adding more batteries.
If you don't mind a bit of letter-writing, send-off a letter to BT enquiring about purchasing a couple of their old deep-cycle batteries when they do their annual swap-out at your nearest exchange (they only keep them in service for 1 year, then send them for scrap).Never Knowingly Understood.

in fact i might get one myself,i remember the power cuts in the 70s and the way the country is going at the moment it might come in very handy........If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.0 -
OK - that does rule out cabling ...rwalton159 wrote: »The area between my house and garage is a road. This discounts installing any cable and running extension leads is a no go as it realises health & safety issues.
So what about a solar panel, that charges a car battery / mains inverter ? Maplin are not the cheapest, but to give you an idea of what is available:

Thanks you for your post. This looks to be the best generator I've seen. 4-stroke and under £100 delivered!
Only thing that puts me off buying such things via ebay is there's no 12mth warranty, something I would get if purchasing from Machine Mart etc.
I might email the seller and ask. Thanks again0 -

Thanks for your post and I appreciate the time you have taken to put all the information together. I really think I need to buy a generator which will allow me more than just lighting.

Believe you me, 1x 12Watt solar panel + 2x 250Ah deep-cycle (not ordinary car) batteries + 2Kw inverter= quite a substantial power supply. No need to spend £6 a gallon on petrol (which soon mounts-up).Never Knowingly Understood.
