Nissan Juke advice
Hello,
I am interested in buying a nissan juke car. I hope you can help me with a few questions.
Am I better to buy a brand new or used car? I have read that you lose money on a new car as soon as you drive it out of the garage.
If I buy a used one (they only came out last year so will be less that year old) where would be the best place to buy? I live in the Northwest.
I currently drive a ford focus which is 8 years old. This is the first time I have the cash to buy something new and my budget is about 13-14k.
Thanks, liz

Have you thought of getting a quote from a car-broker, they can often save you a few grand on a new sale, which should offset any initial loss. Someone like Drivethedeal.com or go to http://honestjohn.co.uk/ and click the Best Deals link.0

personaly no i wouldnt buy one, have you looked at a ford kuga/kia sportage?
ive looked at the reviews for the juke, and their not impressive with reports of underpowered engines, reversing blind spots are greater apparently, and the ride is hard and harsh and returns a fair MPG. quashqui faired better against it but not by much.
with 13-14k, i'd hunt for a while longer taking a few test drives of equal sized cars and specs.0 -
personally I would not buy a new model again, because they have teething problems. I bought the new quashqai in 2007 when it came out and it was recalled (quietly) 2 times with serious stuff and then I sold it 2.5 yrs later with 12000 miles on the clock and I had lost 5k! a 3rd of its price. Wait if you canFood and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 20160

Sorry Liz but I don't think you will find many secondhand Juke's out there, the car has only been on the market for a few months.
You might find a demonstrator or in the next few months a few cars from Nissan UK that where press and management cars.
You are best off to wait, to allow the "oh look a funky new city car"
thing to die down.
I like the look of the Juke.
Though if the wife wanted something small and funky I would point her towards a Fiat 500, possibly the twinair.
Then I can drive it around and say it is the wifes, and that she has borrowed the Jaaag or Beemer for the day..............:D0 -
TBH I like people that consider something different - every car on the road looks the same at the moment in it's lovely resale grey

Gutted that my new car needs to be white (red isn't an option on the base model)
Girl at works Picanto was red, looked new after three hard years, she still thinks it was a good buy, though prefers her Focus.0 -

Spot on there, the new Sportage is a nice car, looked at one briefly at the local Ford/Mazda/Kia dealership when buying a filter for the diesel slugger.
New Kuga due soon, might be a a chance of a decent discount soon.0 -
A big diference in size between a Juke and a Kuga.
The comments on style on here from those that drive the old euroboxes is very funny.
OP your best bet will be a demonstrator if you can find one. oherwise it might pay to wait 12 months or so.0 -

I was going to say the same about the size difference. Why suggest a Kuga/Sportage when OP is looking at a Juke.
The Juke is based on a MIcra so is a small car wheras the Kuga/Sportage are a size above
I quite like the look of the Juke I just dont "get it"0 -

the juke is way way bigger ive seen these in the flesh just a tad smaller than the quashqui and why is it just a bit bigger because its a 5dr and the juke is a 3dr.
Hmmmmmm
Platform
Juke is based on the Renault Nissan Alliance’s B-platform, already used by Nissan for the Micra, Note and Cube and by Renault for the Twingo, Clio and Modus.

The one that passed me looked about the size of an old style 5dr Freelander. It really was much bigger than a Micra , Cube or Clio.0
