Hi!
My 18 month iphone contract ends on 26 feb.
I rang o2 earlier and said that once the contract ends i want to go onto the iphone simplicity 12 month deal @ £15.32 a month.
The guy totally baffled me (easily done ) and started going on about charges and pro rata, blah blah blah!!
So.......i think what he was saying was that he would end the old contract and start the new one before the 26th.
I'm panicking now that i'm going to have charges for cancelling early.
This is my first contract phone so I'm not sure of the procedure for ending and starting new contracts.
So have i made a mistake by not waiting till 26th?

Normally you have to give 1 month notice, so it was not early to call.

It's only you who knows all the details. Phone them again to make sure that you do understand what you agreed to.

I will call back tomorrow :o
So what is the normal procedure when a contract is nearing its end?
I just presumed the new one would start on the 27th......

Do you really want to go on a new contract now when there is a possibility that a new iphone will be out in June. Thats why I opted for a two year contract when I got my iphone 3gs.

Why not go payg and keep your options open for a while. A new contract will always be waiting for you in the wings. You can port your number as well.
