Nothing I've seen from Coupon-mad could be described as libel.

It is difficult, although now not impossible, for a company to sue for libel.

An individual who issues tickets would have to prove Coupon-mad's posts had directly harmed him in his trade, profession or calling, or had lowered him in the minds of right-thinking members of society generally.

The key word is directly.

"There are dishonest motor traders,' is simply an opinion based statement and not libellous.

"John Smith, of Bloggs Cars, is dishonest,' is an allegation against a named individual and could be libellous, unless it's true.

Which brings us back to Coupon-mad's posts and those of others, which is the defence of justification.

In other words, the statements are accurate, which we all know they are.
