Awful Orange coverage - can I move provider?
Hi all,
I'm 6 months into a 12m free Orange deal and really really p'd off with the quality of coverage. Basically calls get dropped all the time and the sound quality is poor. I want to know if I can port my number to a new contract with O2 or Vodafone mid-way through my Orange contract. I don't mind continuing on with the Orange deal as long as I continue to get my cashback.
Any advice greatly appreciated...

Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!

Try asking Orange if you can pac out your number but keep the contract.
However alot of cashback conditions are that nothing changes on the tariff or account, including phone numbers, so ur kinda stuck.
Move to another network or sacrifice your cashbacks
or
forward all calls to a new mobile contract on a good network (use http://www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk/frame_map.htm to judge this from important locations u need your mobile)0 -
Have you tried a different handset? How come you have put up with this for six months? If you are unsure about coverage in a particular area, get hold of free PAYG SIMs to try. If you port your number to another network, you will lose your cashback! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I thought it would be the case that I'd lose my cashback...
I've tried a Sony Ericsson handset and it is the same as my Nokia. I'm not allowed a camera phone at work so have a very limited choice of handsets! It's definitely Orange as my O2 and Vodafone PAYG sims work fine.Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!0 -

That's a fantastic idea about call forwarding, but I've never done it so don't know how it works... is there a delay in the call being connected or any extra charges?Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!0
