could you find out on mysupermarket?

e.g. using the bombay sapphire as an example. at tesco it's priced at £24.47, but ASDA have it at £17. buy it at tesco and you should get DTD - £14.94. so the item, when you factor in the DTD, would cost you under £10 if you bought it from tesco.

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/Spirits/Bombay_Sapphire_Distilled_London_Dry_Gin_1L.html

alternatively, we could use this thread to highlight any good bargains with potential DTD from tesco's price guarantee!

    :)

Thanks, will watch thread with interest.

I have found "Iams Dog food" at ASDA for £5 for a 3kilo bag and yet at Tesco it is £9.12 for the same size bag.

The dog food though is priced at £9.12 in both stores at the Tesco price check website, yet showing as £5 on the Asda website and all the other price comparisons sites, so if i go for it will i get the DTD of £8.24 per bag?
Just need a bit of help really as getting really low on dog food so buying it this way and then using the voucher to pay for my weekly shop will save me a small fortune.

I intend to buy 10 bags if this will work - any one got any ideas please or been in same situation where it is showing the wrong price on tesco's price check website and the outcome please.

    Thanks in advance xxx

    Ive checked the following:

    Princes Tuna (4 x 185g) (brine/spring water/sunflower oil)
    T £5.39/A £3
    Colgate Plax (500ml)
    T £2.75/A £1.50
    Lurpack (500g) slightly salted spreadable
    T £2.80/A £1.50
    Fairy Power Spray (375ml)
    T £3.20/A £2
    Galaxy (4 x 46g)
    T £1.73/A £1.00
Cadbury Easter chick and buttons (167g)
    T £3.50/A £2.00
Lotus Thirst Pockets (4 roll decorated)
    T £2.80/A £2.00

I was sceptical of the tesco price guarantee at first with their unfairness as to comparables but I can see the light now.

There are lots of discrepancies between the prices on asda.com, tesco.com/whatsinstore/pricecheck, and mysupermarket.co.uk. Sometimes just different pack sizes, or scents (eg fairy liquid range). It's a bit hit and miss as far as I can see, but I hope it works! I'm not convinced it's possible to save enough buying branded ranges to equal the savings on buying value or own brands, and I'm not sure about spending more this week just to get a coupon for next week. I'll have a go tomorrow and see how the maths look. It's not likely to make up for having spent so much of the afternoon checking and recording prices of every item on the week's shopping list! Sunday outing to Tesco, ho hum...

i think i'm gonna have a go at this aswell. i'm going to do my usual shop and see if there is any difference. additionally, i'm going to buy an extra item which is cheaper at asda (one that i have checked) with a large difference in price. this will be a little experiment for me. i'll report back to see how things go.

i can imagine this offer being abused by customers. it states on their website:

'Is there a maximum amount a voucher will be valid for?
There is no limit on the vouchers, other than the fair usage limit.'

    at the same time though:

'Is there a maximum amount per month that can be issued in vouchers?
Yes there is a monthly limit, which is reviewed from time to time. Currently it is £100 per household.'

anyway, like i said, i'll see how my experiment goes....

How many people do you think are using their £100 monthly limit. I estimate around 100,000 at the most, which is probably costing Tesco £12 million. Thats not really that much to Tesco, and they will certainly gain more regular customers if they continue this DTD. I have no idea if they will continue with this, it is a extraordinary offer plus fun at the same time.
