I have no scratching on mine it is still like new and have a dog who is hyper and always running about on it

I dont wear shoes in the house but I have had people walking in high heels on it and again it hasnt marked

I might just be lucky or as my flooring is now quite old it might be made differently

Does anyone know if wet underfloor heating can be used under Karndean? Their website says you can but, then again, it would.

If the website says you can, then I would believe it as from my dealings with them, they seem to be a reputable company. If you are still concerned, you should ring their advice line.

If you speak to Karndean themselves (their helpline is very good), they will admit that if you have a stone in your shoe, then it could scratch the Karndean.

A stone on a shoe will scratch any make of wooden floor.

    Or most other things

  • Karndean is vinyl based I believe and not wood (we have oak look in our dining room/conservatory) and its pretty hard wearing as others have said.
the key to it is getting a very flat floor to lay it on and good cutting to make a tight fit. Ours has been down for about 5 years and still looks OK and just gets mopped over with damp mop mainly. loads of different grades and styles (and budgets!) to choose from. Defintely get it fitted by a experienced installer though - it is not the same as fitting a laminate or real wood floor

I would say big quarry type tiles like we have in kitchen are probably best for muddy boots and general heavy use. Also very easy to clean with a proper wet mop and bleach etc

Buy the best Vinyl you can afford, expect £22 to £30 per square meter for top quality.

A vinyl will do what Karendean do and will be cheaper.
Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!
