Hi natlai, Have you tried entering the figures into the snowball calculator? entering any extra money that you could use to repay the debt, like the money your waiting for, its surprising to see how little time (in comparision to what you thought) it takes to clear the debts and its really encouraging to see how them debts start to reduce, it gives you a goal and encouragement. Good luck, you made the first move confronting the debts and your on your way to be debt free :)

    Hi Nicky321

I don't know what a snowball calculator is??? I'm not sure how long it will take to get the payment through as the car crash was 2 years ago. I am going to struggle on to pay off as much as I can.

Snowball states I should be debt free by November 2012 and that's without the payment I might get in the next 6 months. With the payment I should be debt free in 6 months.

  • Its only a little saving, but basically puts all your eggs in one basket if you have any issues - sky can look after your line rental and I think its £11 a month.

Being as others have pointed out the ways forward I'm going to highlight something different but important...

Looking at several of your debts and a couple of your comments I'm going to guess a LOT of this debt is related to shopping through catalogs? Very and Next jump out here at well over £5k for just those 2...
You need to take a very good look at where the money went, if you spent it all on clothes then have you now managed to bring your compulsive spending under control? I say compulsive because running up debts like this on clothes is something I would consider a problem... maybe not if you earn £30-40k per year but you do not!

You need to work out HOW you got to this point and make sure you are wanting to change it otherwise you will be back here again and you will have wasted all that hard work...

If you want to ebay clothes put it on there for 99p starting price with good pictures and no reserve - you might not make millions but it will help declutter both your closet and your life... Look at it as a new start...
