Fair FX Anywhere Card

Hi Everyone,
I just bought a Fair FX anywhere card which is denominated in Sterling. I used my Egg Credit Card to load the card. Does anyone know if I will be charged a cash advance fee for doing this even though the card is in Sterling and not a foreign currency?
Thanks.

Don't know for certain, but I would think yes, you will be charged. It's a cash equivalent. If you bought TCs whether sterling or currency you would be charged so I think it would be regarded as that.0

Almost certainly yes. It will be treated the same as using your credit card in an ATM to withdraw cash. Never a good thing unless in an emergency.
The best you can now do is pay off the Egg balance as soon as possible as cash withdrawals accrue interest from the transaction date.0 -
I've checked my Egg Card statement, and so far, I don't appear to have been charged a fee which is good.
Thanks to both of you for your help.0 -
I am thinking of getting a Fair FX anywhere card, and am keen to avoid paying a fee to top it up. The Fair FX site says that there is no fee for top ups by bank transfer.
Will my bank charge me for the transfer?0 -
Probably not, but why not call your bank and ask them? Without knowing which bank you are with there is no way anybody on this forum could say for sure.0

If you go to there site and top up with a debit card there is no charge , maybe the same for a credit card but I have never tried it0
