I hate my job.
I hate my boss.
I hate my working environment.
I hate the fact that any application for any job I do submit seems to be outright ignored.
I hate anything that makes getting to and from my job any more stressful than it already is.
I hate not being able to drive, not being able to afford driving lessons or being able to buy or run a car.
I hate being so helplessly dependent on the !!!!!! I have to buy my bus pass from.
I hate spending money on a service which gets worse by the week.
I hate spending £36 I can ill afford and not having anything to show for it except more stress.
and I hate being unable to do much about it except rant impotently on forums like this.
That enough perspective? :wall:
Are you always this negative? (That isn't meant to sound so rude by the way lol) There MUST be something positive in your life that you can focus on!? I'm not being horrid or anything, I'm speaking out of experience here
I was a negative person always seeing the bad side of things etc, but now I focus on the teeny weeny bit of positive I can find in a situation
Makes you feel better and you can handle things better
(I still have bad days though - it is human after all hehe)
What about a Metro card?? You can use busses and trains - and what I'm getting at, is there a train station that can get you part of the way? Perhaps you can part train-ride it past the horrid traffic then catch a bus the rest of the way.
Or, invest in a scooter. Just take your basic CBT and you can start riding on the roads and zip in and out of traffic.
If not, try bike riding ON the paths when no one is on it? Is there that many people on the paths (if there are paths) at 7am? You'd probably half your journey time too
Or is there someone who you work with who can give you a lift?
As for your job, perserveer in trying to find another job you'll be happy in. Just remember 'at least you've got a job' although I'm sure it's tempting to pack it all in.
Your chance will come
Good luck hun

I am sure there is some kind of regulatory body which ensures that buses stick to the timetables they should. if it doesn't happen they are fined for each bus which fails to make its route on time. I can't remember the name of the authority which deals with it but I am sure if you google it and then threaten to go to them you might be taken a bit more seriously.
ROFL
This week saw the start of the new NXWM retimed timetable on the 404 Walsall-Blackheath route to improve the reliability of the service and ensure buses arrived every 6 minutes. This has resulted in the bus I catch in the morning being deleted meaning I now have to leave home even earlier to ensure I get a bus that can get me into town to catch my 8.00 a.m. bus to work. So every morning this week two buses have arrived together. Obviously the tweaking of the timetable has been hugely successful.
Yesterday evening I arrived at the 404 stop in town to catch a bus home, remember these buses run every 6 minutes, arrived 17.29 finally got on a bus at 17.53 when (surprisingly) three buses arrived in convoy in the bus station.
And just don't let me get started on the "improvements" to the bus service from Walsall-Pelsall last April. :mad:Freebies Received: Supersavvyme bag, Olay moisturiser, Barbara Daly/Tesco Mascara, Seeds of Change Choccie, Yorkshire Tea Kenyan teabags, Tesco mobile sim cards x 2.

Uh, the bit about the train service being shut down - that bit passed you by, didn't it?
There WAS a train service but now the only way to get a train from Wolverhampton to Walsall is to go in the opposite direction to Birmingham and get a train out again.Rachel_murray wrote: »Perhaps you can part train-ride it past the horrid traffic then catch a bus the rest of the way.

:rotfl: I had been thinking about that too......right now, it's not feasible.
Our working practices have changed and the lady whose work I depend on comes in at 9am. Without the worklists she generates, I can't do my job. At no point can I justify to my boss thumb twiddling for a hour.Rachel_murray wrote: »Or is there someone who you work with who can give you a lift?

Fat chance, really.Rachel_murray wrote: »Just remember 'at least you've got a job' although I'm sure it's tempting to pack it all in.
When the people who've worked here for years are openly applying online for jobs in their lunch breaks, calculating the costs of early retirement, telling me (a new recruit) to get out of the place, sending me links to advertised jobs and openly talk about escape committees - it's a little more than tempting. Trust me on that score.

I'm a chemistry lab technician. I'm in an office job (I'm a kind of trainee hospital clerk) after close to 17 years in different labs. I'm so far out of my comfort zone I'm almost in pain. With even the Forensic Science Service shutting down, my chance may never come again.Rachel_murray wrote: »Good luck hun

Silverjay, I feel it, mate. I really do.
The 529 has been retimed so that instead of every 7 minutes during the rush hour (which they couldn't manage) it's every 6 - 12 minutes which they still can't manage. 20 minutes between buses is standard and that's if we're lucky.
And they don't give change..........:( Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
