Problem with new car (Vauxhall Astra)
Comments
-
i took it to the the dealer today (a different dealer to the one that supplied the car) and they refused to look at the armrest as it wasn't a vauxhall part, and suggested I take it back to the supplying dealer. Even they said it's not right for the car...
I've spoken to the supplying dealer to get sorted and sent them the pictures I posted here. I'll see wht they come back with.
Not really the service you'd expect, anyone know of the Vauxhall HQ address so I can write to them?0 -
It really does have to go to the dealer the armrest was bought from,at least you have coformation from another VX dealer it isnt correct, have you called VX customer care ?
vauxhall.customerassistance@vauxhall.co.uk
or telephone the Retail Support Centre on (01582) 4272000 -
Thanks I'll give that a go, and see what they say.0

Update for you. The the dealer has stated the part came from a company called irmscher, and its an official part, I've checked the Irmscher and vauxhall website and shockingly it looks like they have fitted the right part. if its fitted correctly is still to be questioned but the dealer have sent pictures to them to get an answer.
I've also emailed the address above a description of the problem along with the pictures.
What i really want is this taken out and an original factory fit armrest fitted, whats my chances of getting this?
I'm really not sure where I'll get with this.0 -
Irmscher make add ons for Vauxhall cars like spoilers and loads of styling gubbins i think its owned by GM who own Vauxhall.
It definitely does not look right the way its been fitted and you can say its not fit fit purpose under the sale of good act and it actually dangerous because its so loose0 -
Hmmm, it all reminds why i'll never get a Vauxhall. Very poor quality some where down the line.
I just got a new Mazda6 company car...very happy.0 -

Could have had a Saab for that.
Blimey, I hadn't spotted that! I'm surprised they make them at that price.
Saab, Audi, Volvo, BMW all spring straight to mind, but perhaps the OP prefers the kudos of leaving his Vauxhall car keys on full view on the bar of a wine bar.0 -
If its a fleet car then it wont have cost 24k even tho it retails at that for the public0
