Your award hasn't changed. It's just the daft way the system works.
You phoned up and told them about the DLA award. So you get the disability element in tax credits, and they did a recalculation.
But you income is still too high for anything but the family element, so your award doesn't change (was 252, still is 252 for the year).
But when they do a recalculation, even if nothing has changed, they pay the amount you are owed up to day they do the recalculation as a lump sum, and then spread the rest over the rest of the year.
So the £22.50 is an extra payment on top of your normal 4-weekly payment, and your remaining 2 payments, on 22/2/11 and 22/3/11, are reduced accordingly so instead of getting £51 as you would have got on 22/2 and 22/3 you get £39.75. Total is the same.
Same happened to me and loads of other people when they put through a recalculation to account for next year's rates, but caused a recalc on this year's, even though this year's hadn't changed!
BTW if it says you get nothing from April, phone them and tell them you expect to earn 36k next year and you'll carry on getting the family element next year (about £40 a month). But be aware if you do end up earning over 40k you'll have to some/all back.0
