It may be wrong to react in the way the lady did with the lipstick. No "may" about it, it was wrong
But it isn't the fact that you can legally get away with parking in these spaces due to it being private property that is the issue here. It is, which is why the companies involved, if they cared at all about their customers, would do something about it
It is the fact that large swathes of the UK population have little or no regard for anybody but themselves. That appears to be the case in many circumstances
I am fed up going out to war veterans that didn't want to trouble us when they were having chest pain, due to all the other emergencies we have to attend, when in fact we are attending selfish !!!!!! that are so self absorbed they don't realise that to dial 999 because of a minor issue that you have recieved treatment for yesterday simply because it hasn't cleared up yet, even though they were told the antibiotics would take 2 or 3 days to reach a theraputic dosage in the body. Lots of people, not just war veterans, do not like to trouble people with what they feel may be a minor complaint.
I have watched this country change over the last decade, and not for the better.
The rights of the criminal are more important than the rights of the victim. What makes you say that?
Has anybody ever wondered why the largest groups leaving the UK for Aus, NZ and Canada are Police and NHS workers? Not me. Are they? Do these countries require more of the above workers?
You may think I have waundered far from the OP's point, but there are many symptoms for what ails the UK. Some more and some less obvious. The one the OP has seen is just one of many problems in the UK.
The OP highlighted that someone vandalised a car.
I abhor vandalism as it is a mindless form of crime, which sadly the OP seems to condone.0 -
Noticed someone in Morrisons tonight parked in a disabled bay......without displaying a Blue Badge! I could have whipped my lipstick out of my bag and scribbled over their car but I didn't. Guess what......I kept my nose out!!!0

Also posted this in the praise, vent board as its something ive encounted rather a lot....
My grandmother is disabled and cannot walk unaided. I often take her to the supermarket on sat (only time I can go after ive traveled down to see her) and cant find a space. It drives me crazy as seeing idiots who cant be bothered to walk a little further to park in the correct spaces. My gran doesn't get the option !!!
Im aware in many supermarkets that there are lots of disabled spaces compared to "normal" spaces. But in the MR T's near to her there really are not that many near the main entrance, compared to the size of the store.
On another point due to her need for a wheelchair in supermarket and the fact the wheelchair trolleys don't fit on her personal wheelchair, I often park up in the disabled space, pop out of the car and go and fetch the wheel chair. So many times Ive had people start cursing at me for "using a disabled bay when I'm not disabled" its only when I get a word in edge ways that I tell them I'm on my way to get a wheel chair for my grandmother.. and if they care to look at my car they shall see her sat there waiting for me....0 -

And when your wife was poorly couldn't you have done the same.
You really couldn't have been that bad as you were OK to walk around a supermarket for an hour or so , and you could have stayed home and let your wife do the shopping and vice versa when she was poorly.
Basically you did not have the right, morally or anything else to park in a disabled space. These are for certain disabled people with a permanent walking disability.
I spoke to an older man who had no legs and had driven himself to the supermarket and he could not shop as there was no disabled bays free, he needed one to set up his wheelchair and drag himself out of the drivers seat and into the wheelchair. He had to go home without his food. He told me he lived alone and did everything for himself but he said he frequently has to go home as selfish people kept parking in disabled bays.
So, no, you do not have any right to park in the disabled bays only people with blue badges do.
If your wife has a spinal condition she could apply for a blue badge, she doesn't necessarily need to receive Mobility allowance to do this.
I wonder, would you consider it acceptable to suggest that a badge holder should stay home and a fit relative do their shopping for them?
I write this as someone who has cared for a disabled couple for some 12 years, and the absence of disabled spots has oft been a real issue.
TBH, a non bade holder with a broken leg wouldn't worry me at all, but I see far more seemingly fit and sprightly badge holders alighting fromn their vehicles than those with mobility issues.
Yes, I know not all disabilities are visible, but teh piint of the spots are not just about location, but bay width ~ frankly, if you don't need a wide bay, don't use 'em.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

She does have a blue badge, which we always take when out and about. Just annoying when I see people who park in these bays to pop into tesco for something "quick" e.g lottery or a pint of milk when they are not supposed to be using them... especially during busy periods!!!:eek:0
