Found this new dongle, called abroadband, amazingly cheap prices, 50p/mb and covers worlwide countries, ideal for the EU.

Just started this month but looks impressive, 80% cheaper than uk roaming prices. Just avoid MB eaters like youtube and mp3 sites and your onto a winner I think. A one off payment for the dongle, as per most companies and then just pay for your usage, no monthly fees.
