  • After moving out and racking up a huge credit card bill again :( I'm back on the DFW trail, learning how to manage my finances properly (I had no idea how easy it really was when I was living at home). So, this weekend I will-

Check online banking and download forms for change off address (Done)
Download form for registering on the electoral roll
Have at least one NSD (done! Will try for two :) )
Go and turn the heating off!
Cook dinner and freeze half of it

I really need to get back into the swing of this!!

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time

Hellooooo everyone, & a very, very big welcome back to DNMS!

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself & are feeling refreshed :)

I am not been very DFW today as I have made a big decision - I have applied for a loan in order to pay off my overdraft once & for all (for some reason this one debt stresses me out so much!) & to put deposits down for our wedding, as although by the wedding date we will have saved up enough, we don't have the money to hand now...& we really need to get booking things if we are to marry next year. I have shopped around for the best deal & been as sensible as I can be about it (ensuring the monthly payment is manageable, we aren't borrowing more then we need, the term is suitable etc) so I feel even though I am taking on more debt, it's for the right reasons & will be a lot more manageable.

    Today I have/will:-
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone via PC since it's on anyway[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Food from stores[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Heating on low[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Log calories on free app[/STRIKE]
    • Log expenditure on free app
    • [STRIKE]Check ebay [/STRIKE]- More bids, yay! Hopefully some more by tomorrow though...
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
    • Put away clean washing
    • [STRIKE]Washing on eco setting[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Buy final bits for my friend's hen do using cashback[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Received another £10 voucher from surveys[/STRIKE] :)
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x

Hello, it is quiet on here today!

Glad to hear that you had a nice holiday DNMS :j, and nice to see Josie back too!

    Today I have:

Grocery shopping and used £3 voucher in Mr S.

Used £5 off voucher that I was given in Boots and got eye cream for £2.14 :D

Not much housework :o must do it tomorrow :(

Brother bought fish and chips for tea (I did offer to pay, but happily accepted when he refused - he has been living here for months for virtually nothing)

Made game pie filling ready for pastry crust tomorrow, and a bacon, leek and macaroni cheese for Monday (it was going to be for tonight but them brother turned up with f&c). So, I cooled it and put in fridge - I will sprinkle with grated cheese on Monday and bake in oven till piping hot and bubbling, and brown on top :D

Lazy day today! Must get on tomorrow, or it will be Monday again and I won't have tidied up
  • Morning everyone. I'm really enjoying my "quiet time" and getting LOADS done! My house looks presentable for the first time in weeks, there's HM cookies in the tin and I got to spend four hours in the sewing room making a quilt! :):)

    So far today I have:
    • checked banking - not brilliant, but not OD either
    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered chickens and asked for at least three eggs today
    • written a planting plan/schedule for the allotment
    • emptied small change from purse and put in my money pot
    I will also:
    • use bike as DH still has the car
    • go to DD's house for the morning to do the dolls' house electrics
    • use DD's coffee, milk and lunch! :D
    • just buy milk on the way home
    • spend the afternoon in the garden if the rain holds off
    • spend the evening in the sewing room :j
    • have a very LSD - just the milk to buy
After a busy day yesterday I'm looking forward to my relaxed Sunday - I hope you are too!

    Today's jobs include....

    • go food shopping with a list and clubcard vouchers
    • write a revision sheet for year 8
    • hoover and dust house
    • clean bathroom
