    Totally normal...DS1 started uni in September, DS2 is a very independent 16yr old, I really miss those toddler days when they just loved being with mummy, played innocently with their toys etc. You should have seen me bawling my eyes out in the cinema when I went to see Toy Story 3
    Some things just hit you in the memory bank really hard, whether it's good or bad...let yourself cry, nothing wrong at all with letting the emotions take over for a while

    I can't say anything i've seen on tv has triggered me but there's a song i can't listen to as it was playing in repeat whist i was sexually assualted.

    Haha, I can totally relate to that. I had to keep my 3D glasses on until we got home. My son was mortified! :rotfl::rotfl:

  • I left my abusive ex-husband 15 years ago, and even now some things will 'trigger me'. Albeit these episodes are few and far between now and my current very understanding OH has learnt to deal with them :)

    You are out of the situation now, that is the main thing.
