Yes. Send the letter requiring them to prove that any debt they claim is yours.

Lowell Group is a company that purchase comsumer debts from other companies. I had i debt which was purchased by them which was 5 years old (all cleared now). Which does make me think that this is not a hoax. Ask them to supply you with proof of the accounts and any agreement (this information they should have from when they purchased the debt) and in the meantime of them supplying you with this information ask for the account to be put on hold so no further charges or fines can be added to the account.
