im sure you might already know this but shop direct are the banner company for many of the mail order catalogues such as additions direct, very, jd williams etc ... do you have any accounts outstanding with any catalogues that you can think of?

  • Lowell sent me a letter asking me to pay a debt that had already been paid in full to a different DCA. I sent them a letter informing them of this and that I would report them to the OFT if they continued asking me to pay a debt already paid and I haven't heard from them since.

Most of the companies in the Shop Direct do their business through catalogue shopping - could it be that? Most popular of their brands would probably be the Littlewoods catalogue.

OP has said they don't shop online or via mail order.

I've had letters like this in the past - I think they just pull names out of the hat, hoping that some mugs will pay up!

I got one from Fredrickson International last year and sent them back a combination of the prove it letter and an invoice, telling them that if I had to use anymore of my time opening, reading and answering their letters; then I would charge them £35 for each letter received.

    Nothing received since:D

OP said they don't shop online - they didn't confirm that they hadn't shopped from a catalogue. Hence my seeking clarification.
