How do I text Europe for cheaper?

I am currently on contract with Orange and text my friend in Latvia lots but the charges are huge. Is there a cheaper way to text abroad (Latvia) because when I ask the mobile phone shops they never have an international tariff other than calls only!!!

You could use Fishtext to text Latvia for under 2p per message. Texts can be sent through their internet site or on your mobile phone using an app. You can join for free and they give you 20p credit to try it out, see https://www.fishtext.com0
