Don't click on the BT Yahoo icon. Just delete it. If your wifi is connecting at logon then just go straight to your web browser.

    Genius. Pure genius.

Thanks from a very grateful dobbin

    ARGH It's still doing it!!

I thought it had solved the problem, but it keeps happening. I keep getting this error 105 name error server not found. Have even run the laptop's own repair wizard for the connection.

What the h*ll is going on?

    *bump* please help

I have just noticed when running the repair wizard again that at first the connection is not encrypted, then after the wizard runs it is. Could this be the issue - if so how to resolve it?

Right click on your wireless network icon, View available wireless networks, Change advanced settings, Wireless networks, Highlight your network (SSID), Properties, Connection. Check "Connect when this network is in range". Click OK, Advanced, Make sure "Access Point (Infrastructure) Networks only" is selected, and "Automatically connect to non-preferred networks" is unchecked.

Did you save the settings? i.e. if you check the settings as per post #15 are they correct now?

    Yep all saved.

    I get this message:

Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found.

I am using Google Chrome on XP. I have tried searching the error message and there does not seem to be a consensus of opinion on what is causing this - quite a lot of mention of windows firewall causing problems though? Any suggestions? (other than burn laptop which is what i feel like at the moment)

OK have installed the drivers, and it's made no difference, the laptop still has to run through the BT repair wizard thing when I try to log on despite the fact that shortly after turning the laptop on the 'wireless network connection' icon in the taskbar always tells me that I have connected wirelessly bia BTHub3 etc etc.

You should not have any need for BT software on your laptop. Uninstall any BT software, as it is not required and allow windows to manage the wireless connection alone.

Thanks espresso - I am now using Safari, and having no problems connecting at all, weird.

I am going to remove all the BT stuff though. Thanks for all your help and time :)
