Network Adapter issues? Please help

Just changed my BB provider to BT. When I connect to internet via ipod, all is well. However, when I connect using laptop, every time I have to use the BT fix tool thing, or the laptops own repair connection wizard thing.
I presume it's a network adapter issue (router obviously working otherwise ipod couldn't connect). I have been on to the Toshiba website to try and source a driver for the adapter, however am a bit stumped as I had this laptop with Vista on (which was abysmal) so had XP put on it instead. And there are no drivers for this model laptop with XP on for network adapters.
What can I do, I am sick to death of having to run the repair wizard for ten minutes every time I want to try to log on.
Help!
Please!!

I notice you've put in your post that it's a USB adapter - is this right, as in a dongle type, or is it inside your laptop? It may make no difference anyway.
As Toshiba likely didn't release XP drivers for this adapter if was only shipped with Vista, you might have more joy going to realtek.com and searching for that chipset in their downloads section?0 -
No both are using the hub as I had to put the old passkey thing into both.
It is an internal adapter (not a dongle), I have just copied out how it is described in the device manager list thing.
Will have a look at realtek now, thanks"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

You can download the driver for your network adapter from CNET, just copy and paste network adpter details as you listed above into google and go to the CNET site where you will find the appropriate driver.
Hope that helps?0 -
Thanks, have downloaded what looks to be the right one from Realtek (Can't believe I didn't look there in the first place, what a dope).
Fingers crossed this has worked - cheers everyone "It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

OK have installed the drivers, and it's made no difference, the laptop still has to run through the BT repair wizard thing when I try to log on despite the fact that shortly after turning the laptop on the 'wireless network connection' icon in the taskbar always tells me that I have connected wirelessly bia BTHub3 etc etc. I wait until after this comes up, then click on the BT Yahoo icon on the desktop, only to get some error telling me server not found (but blimmin Ipod can connect every time)
Argh!
What now?"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Don't click on the BT Yahoo icon. Just delete it. If your wifi is connecting at logon then just go straight to your web browser.604!0
