    That is wrong - those on IS are actively encouraged to seek work, but are not compelled to do so.

    You cannot have IS because your 1st child already 9 years old, they won't accepting it as it won't count your other child as a 2 years old because your 1st child is 9 years old. Bad news, you can't claim IS.

    total utter rubbish, you are a lazy sponger who refuses to try and work at all, the OP can claim IS because she has the younger child.
  • Sunnyone is correct, IS entitlement as a lone parent is based on the age of the youngest child.
