Income support help or advice

Hi all, it looks like my marriage is coming to an end. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how much income support I would be entitled to with a 9 year old and 2 year old, until I find a job. Thanks for any help

  • Sorry edited to give you the correct amount and posted at the same time as you. You will probably see an increase in your tax credits as well but you will need to open a new claim asap. Payments stop while your new claim is being processed, please keep this in mind while budgetting.

P.S Are you ok hun? x

Please dont be upset, try not to let your babies see you so.

you will be entitled to a lot more than £60 odd quid, nobody starves in England. It is all very individual to your circumstances.

Put your details into entitledto.com (google it) and Im sure you will be a lot more reassured.

Get the information and Im sure it will help you to be a bit more positive.

Make sure the other half steps up to his responsibilities also.
Get yourself a cuppa and get on the site.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • thanks for the replies everyone x Trying to hold it together luckily my 9 year old is at his nana's and the 2 year old is in bed

  • While the kids are asleep and away, just let it all out hun. Make a list of everything that you need to do...

Have you arranged somewhere for you to stay or are you able to stay in the house? Contact the council for Housing benefit and CT benefit forms.
Contact Tax credits and close your joint claim and make a new single claim.
Make a claim for income support.

    Be strong :) xxxx
  • yeah I will stay in the house thankfully

  • You will also be entitled to healthy start vouchers of £3.10 per week as you have a child under 5. It doesn't sound much but it does help.

You can't claim Income Support if you are look for work, You should claim JSA instead. As you say you are look for work mean you got to claim JSA instead.
