    Am now so confused
I came home to a letter from the estate agent advising that our offer has been accepted!!!! I tried to call but the agent involved is out for the afternoon!!
So I have no idea if the letter is a mistake or if the vendor has changed their mind.

Having had no sleep again - I am no longer sure if I am coming or going at it were.

Not as confused as the couple who's offer was accepted but probably got an offer refused letter by mistake!

They have to confirm in writing all offers so I'm guessing that the secretary made a mistake, but poor show on the person who signed it. One should always read what one is signing.
And the negotiator who was dealing with the offers being out for the afternoon is no excuse for you not being able to discuss it. Phone back and ask to speak to the manager or if they are not in the secretary who typed it.

There's plenty of time for it to go wrong, about 20% fall through so you may get a chance at it anyway, but I'm a great believer in karma and I bet there's an even better one just waiting for you to find it.

If I were you kidcat I would phone them back and insist they find out what is happening , tell them you have another property in mind elsewhere and are considering putting in an offer so need to know today:eek: Its a bit of an odd mistake to make- if it is a mistake..and doesnt inspire confidence in the agent does it!

    Well said:T

No-one on this thread was born with a "silver" or even "copper" "spoon in their mouth". We are all somewhere or other on the "lower income spectrum" (darn it!) and having to fight to keep what we thought we had and/or to get it in the first place.

your own assumption again about users life style

Can I suggest that we move onto other topics than care home fees and womens retirement ages. These are obviously emotive subjects - on which there are some strong opinions both ways.

I'm feeling disturbed at "personal" comments creeping in again - on a thread that some of us (including myself) feel we've had to "fight" to keep running - but we have done so because we feel its so valuable.

So - I'll overlook the misinterpretation of anything I've said anywhere and apologise again for not putting things as clearly as perhaps I might.

So - can we get back onto other topics now please - we're all in this together as we know. It would be a shame for misinterpretations/disagreements to mar our hard-fought for thread.

and you are assuming again that people misinterpret what you say and are only apologising for the way you say it, you are the one constantly bringing up pensions but omitting to say that in fact you will be claiming it very soon and and you knew exactly when your pension would be due just like your other user name is buying a new tv despite in this user name suggesting a tv is the work of the devil.

So - I won't overlook your misinterpretation of anything you have said.

So - gladly get on to other topics but you are the one bringing pensions, nmw, rent or buy, jsa rates ect ect nothing whatsoever to do with the thread

sorry jackieglasgow but to my mind a half hearted apology is worse than none at all

Bertibots, we used to work nights in a big bank as supervisors. We tripped the alarm in one section and the police came.. :D
I keep flour in my spare freezer, I got it on Gumtree for £40 and its as new, Zanussi, totally silent running. But the intention was to cook big batches and freeze half - and I jsut can't be assed with the fuss. So it was empty and I had a stash of flour in the spare room and decided to store it in the freezer. I wrap it in white bin liners and sellotape it up neatly. :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm cracking up, mar, I read your post as saying that you got your FLOUR on gumtree and it was "as new" - I was thinking, good grief, how can flour be as new, what the hell have they been using it for???:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
6 done and 74 to go! They are not perfect but I am hoping that will add to the charm!:rotfl: They are to hang on the back of the chairs at the wedding reception, the marquee is very white and bland and needs some colour splashes and this seemed a cheap way of doing it. The chairs will have white covers and white sashes on, then these will be tied to them. Hoping with the choice of flowers (sweetpeas and roses) the venue will have a bit of a shabby chic look about it. Bunting next!

    Hope this link works! ............
