When i was looking for my home out here i viewed loads of places and came back to this place which was the first flat i viewed- everyone was telling me it was too big!! it was stcking on the market because of that! women didnt like its size because of the amount of cleaning!-i reasoned that the price per metre could never be outstripped by the cost of a cleaner(they are cheap here) and the benefits of having a flat the size of a good sized family home in the uk(its got 200metres of living area) in the uk we just dont size know the size of our homes and value them per metre like here!--my uk flat is a good size for the uk and is 120 metres.- another thing that attracted me to this turkish flat was that it had a communal garden and private car parking which didnt seem important in the other places i viewed(they had nothing and were the same price)mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Well, the allotment is now planted! I have more potatoes than you can shake a stick at. There is also carrots, cabbages, cauli, parsnips, leeks, celery, chives (to shake off carrot root fly) and radishes. The garden is looking good too with onions cabbages etc and I still have more stuff to go in. I am just not going to plant anything else (seedwise) until I come back. The toms (thanks CC) are looking good as are the peppers and I have a couple of squash coming through. Courgettes well, I have two of them so hopefully will get plenty from those. The OH has planted Okra...no idea what I will do with that as it is bound to be me who has to cook it!
Today is studying and I need to get the tent out and check it over. Also the Wilts ironing mountain needs to be attacked!
Not very MSE but Saturday I had a fabulous girlie day out in Bath - and I am now broke!!!!!:D0 -
Had to be up relatively early today as the cooker is being collected. Have taken advantage of the time and managed to pack four boxes of books - over half of one bookcase. Only trouble is the boxes are so heavy I cant lift them so they are staying where they were packed till OH gets home.
Had a horrible message last night from OH family (we dont have any contact other than a very occassional message) saying that one of OH parent is ill - which upset OH - which was bad enough but the nastiness in the message shook even me - I have always known how nasty they were - they spent many years honing their skills on me. Of course it is a timely reminder of why OH chose to walk away in the first place - but has left an all too familiar bitter taste.
It spoiled an otherwise lovely day - kids had great fun hunting for eggs in the garden and the food went well too, there is however huge amounts of salmon leftover. Can it be frozen now its cooked?
Going to take the kids on a little jaunt just to blow off some cobwebs and stop me dwelling on the bad memories that have now risen, OH at work so we can chill and just take the day.0 -
had a very good day yesterday, made us a lamb roast dinner, had a soup in the SC all day - half way through the day i took half the mix out and shoved it in a pan, chucked in some red lentils, a bit of gravy granules, had some lamb left so chucked that in to my stew mix
so i now have about 5 portions of soup, a lamb stew which we will have tonight served with yorkshire puds and broccoli, then as we had bacon sarnies for brekkie yesterday i have some bacon left so i'm going to do us a bacon, leek and broccoli pasta dish for tomorrow, then have some salad stuff left so will have salad for the rest of the week, we have 12 litres of milk in the fridge and a loaf of bread so i think i can easily make it to thwe start of next month without spending a penny
need to have a moan too
it's our wedding anniversary today, even though money is tight i made sure i bought DH a card, reminded him on saturday to go to the card shop to get me a card, got up this morning wrote his card out, he got up, took one look at it and that was it, i made DD give him it to open, he opened it, said thanks and that was it, not even a 'happy anniversary babe' was said to me............ then he went out to bl**dy work!!!!!!!!!!!!
can't believe i haven't even got a card, this is after i didn't get a valentines card or a mothers day card, i am so bl**dy mad with him
i wonder if he will come home with a card for me, even so i might just chuck it straight back at him0 -
Rant alert
Emotions flitting between anger and numbness this morning. Found a conversation on facebook last night between OH and a Claire a girl he use to work with. Apparently he is "still with (me), only just" and althought he has "dumped Isla" she was, is and always will be his dream woman:mad:.
Can not talk to anyone about it as I am not ready to listen to the advice I know I will be given but just need to release the valve a little bit or I am going to explode.
Could not talk to OH about it for shouting. Wondering why I'm working 6 days a week to pay the mortgage, bills and his debts off whilst he is doing a job he enjoys but is not paying anything.
We have also remortgaged the house to help pay off his debts so I'm feeling pretty foolish and used at the moment.
Is he depressed because he did this or did he do this because he was depressed?
I know this was not MSE but thanks for listening. I know I need to get to the bottom of this.
Please I don't want any comments back I just needed to offload.
Thanks
Mrs VPI am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

No comments, but a virtual hug from me Mrs VP for you {{{hugs}}}It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
