Jedi it is good to hear from you and that you and baby are ok. Not long now but I know what you feel about being so heavy. My last was 9lb 5oz,a big difference from my smallest at 5lb 10oz!0

Glad to hear everything went OK Jedi. My two were 11lb 4oz and 11lb 3 1/2 oz. The first was estimated at 9lbs and the second, 14lbs +, so I always tell friends to take no notice of the guesstimates from the hospital :rotfl:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Usually just browse on here but have time to post today.Days like this I love working in a school coz I get the holidays
about to deep clean bedroom and put up new bargain curtains.Last summer sale at Johhn Lewis I grabbed 2 pairs of made to order curtains.Fully lined, pinch pleat headings. Thought they might do for bedroom when we decorated. So Oh put in loft. And I forgot all about them until we got the boat stuff out of the loft last week!
they are gorgeous and cost me £10 each pair.Think the heading tape alone would cost me that !
have a good day everyone!
ETA they don't fit! Pinch pleat heading can't be loosened and about 6 inches too narrow! Anyone want 2 pairs lilac and cream 100cm width and 136cm drop?0 -
Jedi - good to hear last weeks stress has settled slightly and i fully understnad your problem with your OH - mine is the same - in fact I started entertaining more in order to get things done - like your OH with out a firm deadline nothing moves.
We had beautiful day yesterday got loads washing done and had a lovely BBQ, repooted some plants and then potted up some pretty pots for the move, DD16 boyfriend's dad has even promised to grow me a few different things up to small plants (on his allotment) until we move and get settledam so pleased - he is offering broccoli, spring cabbage and a few others.

Shegar and Jedi :grouphug: Hope things go well for both of you.
I had no problems getting to the article, it is an expose of a firm that changes the dates on products illegally, apparently these items are then sold on through corner shops, small supermarkets and pound shops. Amongst items changed were baby food and mayonnaise. They offered to change the BBE date by as much as ten years  I often eat food past it's BBE but it's personal choice to do so, I would want to be able to exercise my own judgement. I am funny about things like mayonnaise (although yuck! I don't really like it anyway) and I would be a lot more careful if I had a baby to feed.
Hi to the delurkers (and those still lurking!) too, before I forget again! :hello:
Well, the doc has said I need to have at least another week off work. I have a hospital appointment too. OH has come home, he caught a couple of smallish flounder while fishing so we will have those super-fresh for our lunch! His sister is in slow labour but is doing okay considering. She is having a biiiiig baby too.
I've got the last of the laundry on the line as we are expecting rain later today. I will be spending the rest of the day resting up as being prodded and poked has made the pain worse. But I'm hoping to be up to making a few more notebooks this afternoon as I have a commission for one that I need to do for a friend.0 -
Morning all
Am rather  with double standards apparently in this household!
Cleaned yesterday before work and it was immaculate - came hoem after a 7 hour shift to a sugar heap basically. When asked what he'd done he answered 'played with the kids all day'. Needless to say I am most unamused - if I 'played with the kids all day' he'd be in a right grump that no housework was done.:mad::mad:so have now done dishes, made our beds, clothes away, aired bathroom and got a load of washing on.
Just need to tidy round living room, wipe kitchen sides, sweep floor, mop hallway and that's me done for the day.
Having one of those days too. Just moved a juice bottle for the lid to pop off and fall into the toaster and not just simply into the toaster - oh no - into and under the grill of the toaster so I cant get the bloody thing out and now cant even hear it rattling so can only presume its lodged in there now  - melted juice cap on toast anyone? :wall:
Have also sat and financially planned for birthdays coming up and it is as followed -
Ben - May 26th
Ben would like a shopping trip to Toys R Us like his brother had - have budgeted £100 for this (chances are he wont spend that much though!) as he is literally getting one or two things in the morning off us and he's asked to take his friend to the cinema to see a film but he won tickets to that so that's fair enough and paid for. (although we'll use tickets for me and Owen and pay for the kids). Sorted.
Owen - June 21st
Wants a netbook. He has been looking into jobs workign away a lot recently as the wages just arent tehre at the minute in his joba dn he can earn more potentially if he is away from home - but his netbook will coem in handy for his photography course, picture storage and keeping in contact etc - plus double up as a dvd player when hes stuck on boring long runs in his present job - cost £229!:eek::eek: but he has said if I can give him money then its a five week month and he'll pay remainder but I have looked at budget and if I stick to it I can afford it without having to scrimp. Plus this is giving me a reason at the minute to get myself financially back on track!
Holly - May 14th
No idea yet - she'll be one so going to take a cake to play group and get her some little girlie bits and pieces - ie dolly etc but not spending a fortune on her!
Need to really get myself back on the OS wagon though this month but have also budgeted to get Holly a new pushchair this week as the buses here only have space for small umbrella folding buggies and she has a big hefty thing so she needs a smaller one which is more managable because at present if I need to go to town I either need a friend to help on and off the bus with her and buggy, or to get a taxi if the weather is bad which costs upwards of £5.50 each way! - and I live in Wales!
also trying my hardest to win him some tickets at the minute to the WWE Live event in Cardiff - fingers crossed peeps! if not Ive promised I will take him as an early Christmas present when they come back at the end of the year.
right had better get off and clean...............ho hum...................will update blog later at some point too. right figure if I clean now, I can sit down later and watch super scrimpers with a nice bowl of cornflakes - addicted to them lately!
right - im going
xTime to find me again0 -

I thought netbooks didn't have DVD drives - it's one of the ways they make them so small and light? It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
