Gaily, I found out about Groupon from this site a few weeks ago when the body shop offer was on. I bought a £30 voucher for £12 and I could use it on anything in the shop. Bought some things to put away as presents. Haven't used it again though as when I have checked the offer hasnt been anything I have wanted. So only one use to go off but that was a good buy.Second purse £101/100

Hurrah! I'm glad it was good. I'm always meaning to find out how it freezes. I can't see why it wouldn't...just...there is never any left:o:o0 -
. . . . . anyone else switched their heating off yet?
Slightly dreading the next gas bill so the central heating is off now until next winter - a bit of a passive OS strategy for today.
Still busy remaking and remodelling . . . although I'm doing more letting out than taking inFound a couple of things that have just been waiting for extra button or hem restitching so my wardrobe is filling up nicely.
:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

greyqueen i've got my fingers crossed for a good result on the big IB court date
sorry to hear about the gallstones fedupfreda my sister has them and is waiting for her surgery. On the plus side she has lost some of the weight she has been trying to loose for ages.
DD2 (14) made a three bean chilli at school today and it eventually made its way home today. Glad we enjoyed it because there was a lot of it 4 portions eaten tonight and another 9 ready to go into the freezer. I think she has picked up on my bulk cooking.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Gosh yes, a while ago! At the end our boiler broke and we had t turn it BACK ON, until we could have it disconnected, as it was leaking worse when off than when on, and so having scrimped on heating all winter we were really toasty for a bit. Haven't had heating on since the disconnect. Hoping we'll have something by next winter, of not we'll get through I guess!
Last few days its been a lot warmer outside than in! Its just that time of year though.0 -
LannyLee - recipe coming up:
Pasta Sauce
Soften an onion in some olive oil and add butternut squash, (you can cube it or grate it; grated cooks more quickly but can be a bit messy. I always grate, what's a bit of mess when you're cooking?) and some chopped peppers (I use Mr T's frozen chopped mixed peppers as I find that the cheapest way to always have some to hand). Let it cook until the squash has softened and reduced - you might have to add more olive oil to keep it from becoming too dry. Add a carton of passatta and some herbs to taste (I bung in some whole sage leaves and sprigs of rosemary then take them out before serving, but I'm sure dried would be fine). Let it fester for a while on a low heat - about 20 - 30 minutes then stir into cooked pasta and top with grated cheese. The sauce freezes really well. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Another big 'Thank You' to ChocClare for the Chinese Chicken recipe. I made it for me old mother today and she loved it. Getting her to eat anything is an achievement these days - she's 81 and quite poorly and has virtually no appetite. I made CCCC with 2 large chicken thighs, one portion for today and another for the freezer. She ate the lot and asked when I'd make it again!!!0 -
This sounds like my kind of recipe. Another vote here for CCCC- made it last night for DH and he was soooo disappointed to not be having the same again tonight.;)0

Well its off and on.!!! if its cold its on if the sun come out and feels a bit warmer its off......weve had so much cloud and fog past few days its felt quite raw.....thats the best about GCH its so flexible, I use to hate this time of year when I had storage heating cos I had to look at forcast the night before to see what to set the heaters at for next days weather....................dont really think the heating will go off yet for at least 4 weeks, march and april are very unpredictable months........................at the weekend it should be double figures and very sunny all day so that will be nice...........:D0 -
