Anyway, back ON TOPIC - thank you to whoever it was who mentioned diatomaceous earth - I now just have to source some food grade product and it should save me an absolute fortune on wormers and flea-treatments for my furry family. Thank you .[/QUOTE]

Hi, I get it by the bucket (quite literally!) from eBay. I use it in the chucks food as well as for a number of purposes!

Just a quickie to say hello and hope everyone is surviving the tough times.

Am missing you all lots but am staying off laptop (supposedly ;)) till the repetitve strain injury heals up. :( Won't type much as have been replying to messages and it's flaring up a bit now. I haven't had time to catch up with everything but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you all and hope you're all well ... or at least coping with whatever is going on.

    Love and hugs,
    Nuala

What were you saying about the full moon, greyqueen? And the super full moon? And redheads?????

My DH and 15-year-old DD have just had the mother of all rows. I actually thought DH was mainly to blame for it on this occasion, but she DID NOT HELP.:mad::mad:

So he has gone out to his meeting leaving me with a sobbing and dramatic teenager. I wish I could say they'll hug and make up when he comes home but they're too damn alike, and even if he gave her a hug, she would just push him away no doubt.

My mum said to me just recently she thought the worst part of bringing up children was when they were teens and you get caught in the middle of father/children rows.

Not that I want to wish her life away, but I'll be so glad when she's a bit older. I went through all of this with DS who is now nearly 19 and charming.

OK, rant over. I will breathe deeply and put DD's hair into rags to cheer her up while we watch something good.

    Blimey this thread moves fast.

Hard to keep up.not really sure whats gone on.

But thefew things Iwill say is

Think when you have nitemare neighbours making your life hell then abit of vent helps.
I have had neighbours from hell in past myself.
Hope people dont take things too literally.

Sometimes i guess we must come acrooss likethose shopkeepers in little britain-where they never make it home:rotfl:
I have quite a dry sarcastic sense of humour so appreciate somedark comedy.

Life would be boring if we all agreed. Would hate for the thread for no one to say what they think and everyone to say inpolitical terms tow the partyline we all individuals at end of day.
But do hate rows or talk of people leaving.

I just rang a while ago - no news yet but it's been handed over to a different department. Was told it wouldn't take years but could take months!

Thanks for the kind wishes folks - now I will be good and get off the computer!

  • Nuala, lovely to hear from you, have missed your posts.

Gailey, glad to hear you're not overdoing it.

Freda, hope you're feeling better soon.

Redlady and Kidkat - good luck with the housing/mortgage issues.

Having a glass of wine here - just felt the need -DD has had to pay £15 today for an exam resit - no- one told us that there was a deadline for applying or gave her any advice, we rang and left a message for her teacher 2 days ago and he didn't return our call. Fortunately she followed this up today, apparently last day to apply for the resit, and had to borrow money from friends for the fee. Will be speaking to the college tomorrow. Sorry - bit off topic, but not happy with the college.
However, piano exam went well and she passed with merit - so some good news!

Re budget - hopeful something will be done about petrol prices, though don't expect much.
