Saveabobortwo, I do understand your frustration but at the same time actions speak louder than words and I for one am delighted that MSE Towers have been so flexible and we are all back together.

That's what really matters and hopefully we will be able to carry on for as long as times are tough (could be some time, then) and help encourage and inspire everyone who needs it when working out their own strategies for coping with the sort of economic whirlwind I, for one, have not seen since the 1970s when people seriously started to wonder whether there would be a serious breakdown of society
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    I've been Money Tipped!
:j Yes we are back home in old style! Lovely to meet the folks in the arms though!

So inspired by Budgetboos post, lots of money saving ideas there and love Nuala's idea of the frugally priced daffs for bringing a bit of early spring cheer to the home.

I have just been potting up lots of one of my spider plants (Mabel) babies, now have 15 more plants and still have all of Doris's babies to pot up!:) I will keep a few and give away most of the others around friends and family. They are a cheap way to decorate a room and the easiest plant ever to look after. I look out for cheap pots in charity shops to make more of a gift of them. Back in the 70's we would fill our rooms with potted plants rather than lots of expensive ornaments.

I am very much a learner knitter here but have so far made a couple of baby bonnets (for my yet to be born first grandchild) using up odd balls of double knit. I would really love to make a little pram blanket though and have found a couple of lovely patterns for free online, one with teddies on and the other with hearts, I might just have enough wool in the cupboard that my sister gave me in a kind of lilac blue so might do for a girl as well as a boy (ds and dil didn't want to know what baby was until birth).

Right, also feeling inspired by Hester and Applemints posts so off to make some leftovers soup and maybe tackle some frugal baking, have some cheese that needs using so easy cheesy biscuits and then will make some blueberry muffins using up some of the reduced price blueberries I bought after my dentist appointment.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Saveabobortwo, hope you're ok, you sound upset and angry. I know we've been moved from pillar to post but it says a lot about the value of the thread that it survived! How are things for you these days? x
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

  • but unfortunately takes a bit more convincing for me maybe all their posters cleared off to the arms without a variety of personalties and views the topic can soon become stale and hum drum and who wants to read that.

It's much the same as how you would normally steam a pudding tbh. There's a post here which gives you step by step. HTH.
:TThank you so much for helping me out on this. The sponge pudding on the link sounds fab too, will have to give that a try as well.
  • had a really nice lazy start to half term here,we didn't get up till 9ish, DD is currently dancing round the room to music to keep warm and i have my shawl on - saves on the heating! :)
think we are going to do some baking later, have half a jar of mincemeat to use up so i'm thinkin mincemeat flapjacks and some eccles cake type thingys, lunch will be a quick sarnie for me and DD has asked for dippy eggs(as long as i don't need the eggs for baking, which i don't think i will do)
tea tonight is from everything we already have in :) mash - which i'll actually use the peeling for my lunch and bake them in the oven so no sarnie for me - carrots, leeks and sprouts with pork steaks and stuffing!!

i am still reeling from my sisters actions, spoke to mum who was shocked that R could throw the insults at me the way she was and the way i'm feeling at the minute, well to be honest i couldn't care less if i never speak to my sister again, which makes me feel really sad :( but i think she said too much yesterday and i'm not sure how we could overcome this, well that's once she's calmed down and realised that the whole world isn't against her but actually trying to help her

right well i'm off to go and peel my spuds so i can have my baked peelings for my lunch... think i might splash out and put some grated cheese on them too :)
