  • Was it them Em that said you would never get it through vouchers alone? Are they now eating their words?

I agree they should be the ones on the airbed not you!

Yeah, his mum seemed quite surprised when I said I only paid £30 towards a £205 bed.

The thing that has annoyed me more is that I cleared most of the stuff off my bedside table, apart from a book. The book was shoved on the floor this morning to make way for their stuff . And they left their dirty mugs and spoons in the sink after having tea this morning :mad:.

I am always so respectful in their house and they treat mine like a hotel. :naughty:. Roll on Sunday when they go home.

All MS jobs done, back at my mum's now for food and writing them up. Still feel really tired today. It's that time of the month as well which isn't helping.

Might do my 4 MS jobs on Monday and leave them for a bit to concentrate on the questions instead. It's nice to have a bit of variety but it does knacker me out running around to do them. It doesn't make sense to space them out more as it will just cost me more in petrol.

Went to Asda earlier and got one of the free baby packs for the baby hamper. It had full sized packs of Huggies wipes and newborn nappies. It also had a little baby hat too :). The hamper is looking pretty full already. Will see what else I can get for free/cheap in the next few weeks.

OH's parents are still out visiting relatives. Part of me hopes that they decide to stay over with their relatives so that I can sleep in my own bed tonight - wishful thinking I guess :p.

I'm astounded!! OH's parents have just come back and because there were no visitor's bays left, OH has moved my car out of my space so they can park there as his dad refused to park in the road!! My poor car is now slumming it in the road. My car is better than theirs!! Newer and better!! First my bed and now my parking space :mad:.

Sorry, had to vent my anger somewhere

TBH I also actually feel his mum & dad have an auful cheek turfing you out of your bed on a regular basis.
    Could they not afford to go to a hotel/travel lodge/B & B?

Thanks Lou - someone who thinks exactly the same way I do :D.

Yes, they could definitely afford a hotel. There are lots of different Travelodge type places that they could stay. Now, I offer to give up my bed out of respect for my elders, but do I think they should take up the offer? No I don't. I wouldn't dream of expecting to turf them out of their bed when we go and stay at their house. But then, they have never offered and we have always had to sleep on the very uncomfortable sofa bed.

As for the OH, he panders to them because they have bailed him out so many times in the past, and he owes them A LOT of money. And when I say a lot, I mean 10s of thousands of pounds.

Also, they used to live in an affluent area, and therefore slightly look down their nose at the area I live in (believe me, it's not bad - and I know the bad areas from working at Probation for 8 years!). I think that's why his dad refused to park in the road. Another reason why they should stay in a hotel somewhere that meets their approval.

I think I should have set my alarm for 7am this morning - I might have been able to get in my own bathroom if I did!! Been waiting for well over an hour now. I have never known 2 people to spend so much time in the bathroom between them. It's like they've got a tag-team system going!!

The only thing that has cheered me up this morning is seeing the new meerkat advert :).

I can not believe how your OH's parents have treated you. They've disrespected your home, the place you live, your car and I am appalled. I would start hinting at a free holiday at theirs and then see how they like their house being respected. Either that tell your OH to be stronger and have a word with them because this is not on, if not tell them yourself and if they dont like it they can go home early and never get another invite again!
