£13 for a blow dry???

I have been looking at cutting the cost of my haircare. I go to a fairly expensive salon about 3 times a year to get half head of highlights and a cut and blow dry done.
I was looking on my hairdressers website and noticed they do a wet cut, so had a look at the price difference between that and a cut and blow dry and it was £13!!!!
Now, I'm sure I was just being naive before, but that's a lot for something I'm absolutely not bothered about. I generally don't like the way they dry my hair and often go home and wash it again straight away so I can style it my way.
How I didn't know about this I have no idea, but in case anyone else is in the same situation, I thought I'd share it on here.

A wash and blow dry is £15 in my local salon, a bit cheaper at the blow dry bar type places but a minimum of £8 and certainly £10 at weekends.
I always think they should use facebook or something to advertise quiet times and offer blowdrys for £5 or whatever - would get people through the door and get them into the way of getting this done!
Personally I do like to have it blowdried after a cut though

It depends on whether you need it to be blow-dried or not. I always have a £12 wet cut at my local salon, because I prefer mine to dry naturally in waves/curls. I usually end up with a horrible bouffant otherwise.

I always get a wet cut nowadays, never really liked my hair being blow dried unless it was the senior chap, he left and the others never get it right! Also far cheaper too
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

I have been using the same stylist for a long time. She sprays my hair to make it damp and then cuts. I come home and immediately shower and wash and style my hair myself. I have a short urchin hair cut and my hair is very strong and the cut bits are sharp! Even though she puts a gown and a rubber thingie on my shoulders, bits still get on to my skin and clothing.
Anyway, I pay £18 every 4 or 5 weeks. I do think it is quite expensive but seems to be the going rate in my small market town.0 -
I pay about £40 and travel 70 miles to my parents' hometown to get my hair cut.
I've tried loads of hairdressers all over the country (due to moving around) and never found one as good.
Last time I went locally I paid £160 for cut & brazilian blow dry - totally not worth it.0 -
Last Friday I had capped highlights (agony!) and blow dry for £25. Bargain! But normally I just have a dry cut as I have a bob so am not bothered to have it styled, and I only ever pay between £7-£10.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -

That's similar to me - I travel about 30 miles and pay loads as I finally found a good hairdresser after many years of looking.
She's thinking of moving to Oz but I may have to bribe her not to

Thought of that makes my eyes water, although I'm not sure what a brazilian blow dry is
I pay £18 for a cut and blow dry, but I only have my hair cut maybe three times a year.0 -
I had a job interview once; my regular hairdresser wasn't in, so I stupidly asked for the senior stylist to wash, dry and straighten my hair.
£28
I nearly died right on the spot.
However, I did get the job and it is a very good job, that I love; I felt confident about how I looked, and so I think it must have had an impact.
But I've never forgiven nor forgotten what I was charged!!:rotfl:Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -

Wow where in the uk is that? For my small village hairdressers (pretty average run of the mill place- nothing flashy etc) it's 35.00 for the junior to was cut and blow dry!
Think I might have to go further afield!!0
